What is the NB Student Aid Portal?
The NB Student Aid Portal is a central location for users to submit new applications, upload documents, and receive messages. Users will need to register for a new account to access these features. -
Do I need to register if I've applied for NB Student Aid in the past?
Yes. The information you used to sign-in previously will not work with the new portal. You must register a new account, which will link to your existing account once you complete your profile. -
What do I need to create an account in the NB Student Aid Portal?
You need to have a valid email address to register an account. You will need your SIN to complete your profile after registering your account. -
How do I create a new account in the NB Student Aid Portal?
To create a new account, follow the steps below:- Click Register here on the Account Sign In page.
- Complete all the required fields, read through and accept the terms and conditions (note you have to scroll to the bottom of the terms and conditions to be able to accept the terms and conditions) and click the Register button.
- You will receive an email with an activation link. Click the link and sign in using your email and the password you just created to finish registering your account.
- Once your account is registered, fill in your personal information and click Save.

I am having technical issues while setting up my account. How do I resolve them?
For immediate support, you can call 1-800-667-5626 and a representative can assist you. You can also send a message which will be reviewed in 10 business days. Note that some technical issues can not be resolved by sending a message (for example if your account is locked). -
I have a question about my account that isn't a technical issue. How can I get help?
You can call 1-800-667-5626 and a representative can help. If you try to submit a non-technical issue through the send a message feature, it will not be answered. -
I made a mistake on my profile. How do I fix it?
Please call our representatives at 1-800-667-5626 to have your account updated. Be prepared to submit supporting documentation for the update. -
How do I sign in after creating my account?
On the Sign In page,- Fill in your email address & password and click on the Sign In button
- Answer security questions and click Continue

I'm locked out of my account. How do I get my account unlocked?
Please call our representatives at 1-800-667-5626 to have your account unlocked. -
Am I able to continue receiving notices and correspondence through the mail? Or will I only be able to receive notices and correspondence electronically?
As we transition to the new NB Student Aid Portal, we will be sending information both electronically and by mail for the 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 academic years. You will see a new option in your profile in the future to select a delivery method. -
How do I reset my account password?
Once you sign in, click on the Profile button in the top right corner and select Change Password in the My Profile screen. A new page will open where you will have to enter your old password and create a new password. You will have to answer security questions in order to change your password. -
I forgot my password. What do I do?
Click on the Reset Password link on the Account Sign In page. It will open a page where you must enter your email address and click Reset Password. An email will be sent to your registered email address with a link to reset your password. After clicking the link, you'll be able to create a new password for your account. -

I want to change the email address I used to set up my account. How do I do that?
Once you sign in, click on the Profile button in the top right corner and click on the Update e-mail address link in the My Profile screen. A new page will open for you to enter your old and new email and click Update. You will receive a link to activate your new email. -
Do I have to use the NB Student Aid Portal to apply for financial assistance?
Online applications are available only through the NB Student Aid Portal. If you do not want to use the portal, you can submit a paper application, which can be requested by calling our toll-free number: 1-800-677-5626. Submitting a paper application will result in additional processing time. -
Why am I taken to the old Student Financial Assistance Application page when I click the Upload or Application tile on my dashboard?
We are making updates in phases. The first phase is the NB Student Aid portal. Future enhancements will include updating the application and upload capabilities.
